Attentional bias in blood phobia

If you are scared of something you might not want to look at it.  You might not want to stare at it but the dilemma is that you want to keep alert for signs that the fearful concern (blood or needle) is lurking nearby.

This study showed that people with blood phobia are very quick to notice the fearful cue but then distract themselves afterwards.
